Great British Food Producer Awards


The Great British Food Awards were launched in 2014 to celebrate the country’s finest home-grown ingredients, as well as the hard-working folk who produce and cook with them. This year, the awards are bigger and better than ever, with lots of new categories and amazing celebrity judges, as well as a new ‘Grand Champion’ award for the best product entered across all categories.

This year we are charging £40 per product for the initial judging process, entrants can also pay an extra £20 for feedback.

How They Work


This year we’ll taste test EVERY single product that gets entered into the awards.

Stage 1: First tasting and shortlist
Products need to be entered online (closing date: 26th May), then sent to our Colchester offices for testing (we’ll arrange delivery dates with each entrant individually). The knowledgeable Great British Food editorial team will then judge each item – based on both the taste and provenance of the ingredients used – and create a shortlist of the top 5-10 products in each category.

Stage 2: Celebrity judging round
The shortlisted products will then be sent to our judges mid-June (exact dates to be announced), who will rate the products entirely on flavour. Our judges will pick a winner in each category, as well as two highly commended products.

Stage 3: Grand champion round
The winning products in each category will then be tasted and judged by the expert buying team at esteemed London food hall Partridges, who will pick an overall winner.

Stage 4: Winners
Winners will be announced in the October issue of Great British Food magazine, out 8th September 2017.
