How it works

  • Stage 1Enter your products!

Once you've applied via our online entry form, you'll need to send your products to our editorial offices where the products will be tested and shortlisted in-house by the Great British Food team. The closing date for entries is Friday June 21st and samples need to be with us by Friday June 28th. The shortlist will be announced Friday 12th July 2019.

  • Stage 2The judging stage

The shortlisted products in each category will then need to be sent to our esteemed panel of judges for them to pick their winning product, as well as two highly commended products. Please note our judges are located around the UK so please ensure your product can feasibly be dispatched to them before entering. For more details please email the team here. Finally, the winning product in each category will be sent to our final expert judge, for them to pick our overall winner - The British Product of the Year.

  • Stage 3Winners announcement

The winners of each category will then be announced at greatbritishfoodmagazine.com and in the November issue of Great British Food magazine, which goes on sale Thursday 17th October 2019.
