What are the Great British Food Awards?
The Great British Food Awards were launched in 2014 to celebrate the country’s finest home-grown ingredients, as well as the hard-working folk who produce and cook with them. This year, the awards are bigger and better than ever, with lots of new categories and amazing celebrity judges, including Raymond Blanc, John Torode, Monica Galetti, Michel Roux Jr and lots more! The British Product of the Year award is for the single best product entered across all categories.
How do the awards work?

and then send two samples of each to the following address as soon as possible:

The closing date for entries is June 21st 2019. The closing date for samples to be sent in to us is June 28th 2019.
Our in-house team of experts will test out every product, giving each a final mark out of 15. Marks out of 10 are given for taste, and marks out of 5 are given for provenance – based on the information given in your entry form. We will also fill out detailed feedback forms for companies who want them.
Our team will shortlist the best scoring 10-15 products in each category. Shortlisted companies will then be required to send samples to our celebrity judges during late July/early August 2019. For more information about them click here
. Our judges will pick one winner and two runners up in each category.
Winners will then need to send samples into our studio for photography by September 19th. Those interested in participating in our final ‘British Product of the Year judging’ will also need to send final samples to the buyers at Partridges food hall.
How much does it cost?
Just £70 (+ VAT) until the 21st June
£100 (+ VAT) per product for optional feedback from our in-house judging team.
When do entries close?
June 21st 2019.
When do judging samples have to arrive by?
June 28th 2019, though we do ask companies to send products in as soon as they have entered.
When will the shortlist be announced?
The shortlist will be announced to the public on July 12th 2019, though shortlisted companies will be informed beforehand in order to arrange judging samples to be sent out.
When will the winners be announced?
The winners and runners up will be announced to the public on October 17th 2019, though winners and runners up will be informed beforehand in order to arrange photography samples to be sent out.

Imagine being able to say the likes of Raymond Blanc, Michel Roux Jr or John Torode chose your product as the best cheese, gin or pie in all of Britain? The Great British Food Awards give you the opportunity to have your food and drink tasted by some of the UK's most acclaimed chefs, critics and influencers.
The Great British Food Awards brings with it a great deal of kudos; as the only food awards scheme entirely dedicated to discovering the best British food and drink products, winning or even being shortlisted in one of our of categories is an incredible feat.

How does feedback work?
When entering your product you will have the option to receive feedback from the Great British Food team for an extra fee. Forms will include a score out of 15 (marks out of 10 are given for taste, and marks out of 5 are given for provenance) plus detailed and constructive comments from our judges. Previous entrants have found the comments very useful for marketing purposes. Even if you don't win, getting feedback provides invaluable knowledge that may help you grow, improve and develop your offering, or reassess certain aspects of your product's taste or packaging.
When will feedback forms be sent out?
Our team will aim to send the feedback forms out by the end of July.
Who will be judging the awards?
Firstly the Great British Food team will painstakingly test every product entered to compile a shortlist of the best in each category. Next, we have enlisted a fantastic group of celebrity judges to pick our winners; each and every one is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their chosen category. What is the British Product of the Year award?
All of our winners have the option to send their product out one last time to our prestigious final judges, the buyers at Partridges London. They will then pick their favourite product, based on a strict criteria taking into account provenece, packaging and innovation – but taste first and foremost.
How will the winners be promoted?
Our winners and runners up will be announced in a glossy spread in the November issue of Great British Food magazine (on sale 17th October 2019), with lots of online and social media promotion across our platforms – as well as those of our judges. There will also be coverage in the December issue of Speciality Food, a prestigious trade magazine with a significant audience in the food industry. Winners and runners up will all receive a detailed press pack with logos, quotes, promotional material and tips on how to make the most of their win.
When will I receive the invoice for my entry?
Invoices will be generated approximately 14 days after entries close on June 14th.
